Mt. Rushmore/ Windcaves Hike

We drove out to Utah again for Shalane's wedding the first part of August. Because we drove out in June, we decided to take our trip out a little easier. We stopped at Mt. Rushmore and stayed in a hotel in Rapid City.

The boys were so excited to stay in the hotel and get to swim in the pool. Nathan put his foot in, but started to cry because the water was cold. Doug swam with Danny, Jacob and Andrew. I sat on the side and held baby Nate.
The week we were in Logan, Doug took the boys for a hike to the Wind Caves up Logan Canyon. Melinda, Sandy, and Austin also went a long.

Summer Soccer

This year was Jacob's second year of soccer. It was really fun to watch him play. He is so intense when he plays. He may be one of the smaller kids, but you would never know it with his determined little face.
In his league they don't keep score, but Jacob always knew what the score was. It was fun to see him get better as the season went on.
Nathan also enjoyed having his Mom and Dad to play with all evening long.

I love this happy little boy!
Andrew got to move up a league this year and loved being with the older kids. Each year he is improving and really liking to play soccer.
Soccer was on Tuesday and Thursday nights through June and most of July. Jacob played from 6:00 to 7:00 and Andrew played from 7:00 to 8:30. I love that they have a practice for half the time and then play for half the time.
Sometimes Danny got a little tired of watching his brothers play and not being apart of the game.
Danny found other things to keep him happy though.
Nathan at around 4 month old. He is such a HAPPY boy!
We love soccer!

Danny loves to play with anything and make them swards. He is all boy!

4th of July

For the 4th of July we decided to try something new this year. We usually go into Chanhassen for their parade, but we heard that Delano has the oldest parade around, so why not try it out!
We got there an hour before it started and the road was already packed. We had to walk quite a ways to find a place to put our chairs.
The boys played football in the road while we waited.
The parade was wonderful, but by the end it was really hot, so the boys were done before it was over.
Danny's favorite part was getting all the candy.
Doug tried to keep Nathan a sleep which was a little difficult with bands and fire trucks going by.

After the parade we went out to lunch at Subway and then went and bought an ice cream maker. We headed back home for naps and then invited our neighbors over, the Kachers, for a bbq. It was a great 4th of July!

Brandon and Melissa's wedding

The week we were in Logan was also filled with excitment for Brandon's wedding. Brandon is Doug's best friend from growing up. Brandon lived across the street. There are very few stories from Doug's childhood that Brandon isn't apart of. We were grateful that we were able to be there for his special day.
Doug, Parker, Weber and Brandon at the Logan Temple

I'm not sure what was so funny...maybe it was finally seeing Brandon kiss a girl.

What great friends Doug had growing up.
At the luncheon.

Brandon didn't like any of the food they were serving at the dinner so Weber and Doug went and got Brandon a Steak for lunch.
