Winter Snow Storm... Arizona here I come!

Today we had our first winter storm. Andrew was so excited to finally have snow. Everyone keeps telling him about the snow here in Minnesota, but it couldn't come soon enough for Andrew. I think he finally has enough to play in.

I'm ready for a trip to Arizona. Anybody want to come?

First Day of Vacation

Doug had a week of vacation to use up, so he decided to take this week off. We have big plans of doing lots of fun things around the Twin Cities. Today we went to the factory stores shopping. With 2 boys, trying to shop wasn't as fun as we had hoped. I know this wasn't exactly how Doug wanted to start his vacation, but he was a good sport.
Tomorrow we are going to the children's museum and on Wednesday we are going to the zoo. On Thursday we are going to the Mall of America where there is an underwater aquarium. We are excited to try all these fun things here in MN. We figure we better try all these things so when anyone comes to visit, we will know exactly where to take them.

Our FirstTrip to the ER

We had a very exciting Sunday. The morning went well. We got to church early which doesn't always happen. I looked at the program and told Doug that I thought it would be a great meeting. We started to sing the opening song. Jacob opened his book and sat on the bench to sing. In the middle of the song he decided to jump down, but fell instead. He hit his head on the bench in front of us. I grabbed him and ran out before he started to scream. As Jacob took his hand from his head he was bleeding. I took him to the bathroom and wiped the blood from his head. It didn't really bleed, so I didn't think he would need stitches. I took him back in and the lady in front of us said he would need stitches or he would have a nice scar above his eye. We all walked out of church and headed for the ER... Jacob ended up getting 2 stitches above his eye. I was so nervous, but with the great way things can be done now, it didn't end up being all that bad. We went back to church and made it there for the third hour.
On the way to the hospital, Doug said he thought this would be the first of many trips we take to the hospital for Jacob. What an energetic little boy!

No Pictures for a While

Our computer has bit the dust. We are looking to buy a new computer, but until then I won't be able to put on pictures. I'm so sad that I finally start a blog & now I can't put pictures. I have to use Doug's laptop for work when he gets home. I hope we are able to find what we are looking for soon so I can have fun with my blog again.

Our little missionary

Last Saturday night we had a guy that Doug works with and his wife come over to our house to watch our boys. It was our 6 year anniversary, so we went out to a movie. When we got home we asked our friends how Andrew had done. They started to laugh. They told us that when they were putting Andrew to bed, they read him stories and then told him to go to bed. Andrew said they needed to say prayers before he could go to bed. This wouldn't be that big of a deal, but our friends are not really religious. They folded their arms for the prayer & Andrew told them they had to kneel down, fold their arms, close their eyes & bow their head. They followed what they were told and Andrew said the prayer then went to bed.
I was a little embarrassed with this story, but proud that Andrew is really understanding more than what I think. He is really funny about prayers. He makes us say a prayer before we eat every day. It is nice to have him try to keep us on the straight and narrow.

Horse, Porsche, what's the difference

Last night we were going for a walk through our neighborhood. Andrew saw a cat and said he wanted a cat like that. Doug said, well I want a Porsche. Andrew said, Dad it is a cat, not a horse. HA, HA. I love the funny things a three year old says!
