Back to School 2011

Andrew started 2nd grade this year. We took him to his first day of school. He was surprised that he didn't know too many of the kids in his class. Most of the kids from the last two years are in other classes. I guess he will have the opportunity to make lots of new friends.
Mrs. Stelzer is his teacher. There are 23 kids in his class.

Jacob's first day of Kindergarten.
He is SO excited to go to school and be like Andrew!
He goes Mon. Wed. & Friday all day. He loves that he will ride the bus with Andrew and come home with Andrew. The best part is that he gets to eat school lunch.

It took Danny a little while to get use to having his buddy Jacob gone.
I was surprised that Jacob was very nervous, but excited to be in school. He wasn't too sure about having me leave him there.
They survived!
I was so excited to hear all about Jacob's first day of school.
They get on the bus at 7:20 every morning.
Jacob, Andrew, Zach, & Ben at the bus stop.
I hope we have a wonderful school year!

Happy 3rd Birthday Danny!

For Danny's 3rd birthday we went to the MN zoo.

The boys love the new penguin exhibit. The penguins will follow the boys foot as they put it up on the glass.

The dolphin show is also a favorite!
Ready for the bird show.

The bears are Mom's favorite exhibit. I love when they are right up to the window. The are SO big!

Danny had a GREAT 3rd birthday!
He got a new truck to play with. Also ants in my pants and Cars Memory...his favorite!

Our neighbor made Danny his cake, Jake and the Neverland Pirates. He was excited to eat the alligator.

If I could FREEZE Danny at this age, I would. I love the cute things he says each day. When he falls down, rather than cry, he jumps us and says, THAT WAS AWESOME!
Danny loves when Jacob is home from school because they play all day together. On days that Jacob is gone Danny also enjoys playing by himself. He is the first one to ever be able to play all alone. Many days I will find him in the toy room playing all alone.
I also love how loving he is. He often comes and gives me hugs and says, I love you Mom. It makes my day!
Love you Danny boy!!

End of Summer Fun

Sweet Nathan playing on the floor 5 1/2 months old.
In August Doug's niece, Jessica and her husband, Jeff came to the Twin Cities for Jeff's work. It was so fun that Jessica was able to come and visit us! One day we took her to the zoo.

The boys favorite part of the zoo is the bird show. Andrew always wishes they would call on him when they have a bird fly on someones finger. He finally got his wish. He looks a little nervous getting ready.
He loved that he FINALLY got to have the bird land on his hand.
While Jessica and Jeff were here we also went to the Mall of America and took them out to a fun place for dinner in St. Paul. One day Doug also picked them up from work and they came to our house for dinner. I hope that Jeff will get to come out for work again and Jessica and come too!

As the summer was winding down I decided to fill up a cooler full of water balloons for the boys to play with. While I was out in the backyard filling them up, Doug came home from work. I'm not sure if the boys were happy he was there or not because he SOAKED them!

Shalane's Wedding

Our trip out to Utah was for Shalane's special day. We first went to the luncheon at Copper Mill...yum! It was fun to have everyone 16 and older at the dinner. The best part was Doug trying to make sure the seating arrangement was okay.
Then we were able to go to the sealing ceremony at the Logan Temple. Shalane's grandpa Roylance was able to marry her and Jason.

That night was the reception out in Hyram. It was BEAUTIFUL! Shalane made a gorgeous bride. It was a very special day for the Hobbs family.
The rest of the Hobbs family...Darrin, Elizabeth, Josh, Kymberlee, Katie Rae, Dallin, and James. They all looked GREAT!
All the grand kids enjoyed eating cake and ice cream. The were also excited to be able to attend something since they had spent the day at Grandma's house while the adults went to the luncheon and ceremony.
It is always a wonderful day for a family when it is spent in the temple sealing eternal families!
